Tourism clubs have invaded my country (Romania) and now they are promoted even on TV national channels. They say you can make money and travel all over the world at reduced prices if you join a tourism club, but first you must pay 250 $ initial membership fee plus 50 $/month. Well, I’m kind of skeptical of the part of “making money”, but it would be good at least if the travel deals save me more money than the taxes I must pay to get them.
The problem is the club I found searching online (dreamtrips) does not publish the prices of their vacations and I cannot compare them to see if indeed they are cheaper than other travel offers. For sure, this is not the kind of club I’m looking for.
However, I find the idea of belonging to a tourism club quite interesting and if you know such a club, please let me know.
The best job in Europe: travel, blog, record and report
By the way, looking for tourism clubs I came across some job ads at The Best Job in Europe:
Chief Funster, Lead Photographer, Lead Adventurer for a nice salary: USD 70,000 – 110,000 plus travel expenses and supplies, with a temporary contract (one year), just to “promote the BEST 26 destinations in Europe. Travel, Blog, Record and Report.” (cited from eurojobs.com)
Oh, my God, this is my dream job!!!
….But it seems that you have to pay a tax to be able to apply for these jobs. Hmmm, I wonder if they are for real or not. But the jobs were promoted even on eurojobs.com …..soooo…?
Oooo…k, so I registered and learned about European Tourism Club, well, I’d love to join this club as I live in Europe and I travel mostly in this area. The basic membership fee is 10 $/month, the smart membership card is 40$/month and a VIP card is 90$/month. And they have also a platinum card which is 5490 $/year – wow!
I’m looking forward to hearing your opinion on tourism club. Have you ever joined a tourism club?
Do you take into consideration joining one?
