10 heatlhy diet tips
1. Work on your motivation
before starting any diet. If you don’t have the right motivation, you’re likely to give up before you achieve a significant weight loss.
2. Have realistic goals
Research shows that aiming to lose 5-10% of your body weight in about 2-3 months might be considered a realistic goal.
3. Choose a diet plan and stick to it
as best you can. Before beginning the diet, establish very exactly how much you want to lose, how you are going to do this, and in what time. Plan in details every day and make this project your priority.
4. Avoid ‘trigger’ eating
Keep away from kitchen, fancy restaurants, parties, McDonalds, KFC and anything else that smells and taste good. 😉 Go for a walk in your grandma’s vegetables garden and help her doing gardening instead.
5. Be more active physically
Physical activities take your mind off eating, so you will have less chance of indulge in emotional eating. Ideally going to a gym or jogging would be good, but just going for a walk 45-60 minutes a day it helps too.
6. Drink plenty of water
Water fills you up and keep the hunger at bay. Drinking around 6-8 glasses a day is what is recommended, but nobody keeps you from drinking more. Especially if you respect nr. 5 tip, you definitely should drink more than 6-8 glasses a day.
7. Tell your friends and family about your diet
If people around you know you are on a diet, they are more likely to be supportive when you encounter some difficulties in your way.
8. Use a smaller plate to serve your meals on
This will make your meal look larger and will give you the sensation you’ve eaten a lot already. (p.s. hopefully you’ll forget that sensation is just because of smaller plate :))
9. Eat at least a grapefruit a day
It is believed that it lowers your insulin level and therefore makes you less hungry, which in turn means you eat less, and lose more weight.
10. Read a lot about dieting, healthy life, losing weight
And about calories intake, food and the like – the more you know the more you get motivated to stick to your diet and have a more realistic chance of reaching your goal.
