One good thing about WordPress themes is that each one by default has a specific font configuration. That’s nice, but what if you’re not pleased with it and want to add new fonts?
Not need to say that having a good readable font is mandatory for your website, if you want your visitors to come back. Not only the font family counts, but the color and size too. A light grey color and a small size would make it difficult to read and I usually avoid to read blogs that are written with grey small fonts because I get tired eyes.
I use to have a default font until now, but not even I was happy to read my articles written with that one, so I decided to choose a different font in order to make my blog more appealing. (I need your feedback on this).
There are many plugins to install if you want to change your fonts. I made some research and decided that one good and easy to use plugin is Easy Google Fonts.
How to install Easy Google Fonts plugin
Step one. Go to Plugins, click Add new plugin and write “easy google fonts” in the search box
Step two. Install the new plugin and click activate.
Step three. Go to Customize, search for Typography section (Appearance → Customize → Typography) and click the Edit Font button to reveal the customization options. After that, you can begin to choose the fonts that you like for paragraphs and each of the headers. You may choose the colors, size, positions not only for paragraph fonts but for headings too. The changes apply instantly to all of your posts.
Don’t forget to save the changes before you leave the section. You can see the steps explained in this video I found on vimeo:
