There is no doubt that there are millions of bloggers and some of them actually have more than one blog since blogging is such a thoroughly modern phenomenon. Seems like for many and various reasons people love to express their thoughts, desires, and experiences on a blog. However, some people view this activity with admiration, some with suspicion and some with envy.
Most of the people start blogging thinking to make a profit out of it, but few succeed. I’ve read recently some statistics that say only as few as 8% of the bloggers manage to make a living out of blogging, the rest is writing for little money or for free. Of course, I can think of many other benefits of blogging for the sake of blogging, like clearing your mind, making new friends, the pleasure of sharing your thoughts with others, the sense of belonging to a virtual community, improving your writing skills or your English level (my case 🙂 – to name a few.
However, writing regularly does require a lot of time and energy, I could realize after seven months of blogging. And I have only written a few posts a month. I wonder how other bloggers find the time and inspiration to write every day. Surely, I started this blog with this thought in mind (to write every day) but I gave up the idea pretty soon when I realize how many sacrifices one must make to keep adding constantly new content.
Blogging is a serious business
I’m thinking that most people must really like to blog, otherwise, I cannot see why they’d make efforts to add fresh content all the time, after spending hours to make research on a specific subject. I don’t count those so called fashion blogs that are full of hundreds of photos of their owners, which bring zero value to the knowledge, but rather point to a personality disorder (histrionic and/or narcissistic). I visit those blogs only when I have to reciprocate comments on some facebook groups, and I am eager to leave them as quickly as possible. I’m referring to blogs that have interesting niches and contributions.
I’m very curious about your motivation to keep blogging even if you don’t earn enough money to make a living out of blogging.
Why do you like to blog?
How did you choose your niche?
What do you want to realize with your blog?
This Time blog are very useful things to promote websites and many things. Express of your sites details and there features.
I blog because I think it’s fun. I haven’t got massive plans of monetising my content because it’s not the kind of content I want to really be paid for – my journalistic ambitions are elsewhere – but I keep at it because it’s really fun and keeps me connected to awesome people.
I am a writer and I love to be able to connect with others and offer some wisdom for other millennials trying to survive the corporate world like me. As there are so many blogs out there, I think there is so much to learn.
I like blogging because i love writing, sharing experiences and encouraging others to travel more <3
I like blogging because it’s so creative. I can find myself in a supermarket and get inspired for my next blog post. It’s also exciting when you plan your day out and see how much you learn every day!
I see blogging as a hobby 🙂 I used to dance but due to be diagnosed with rheumatoid I’m not able to do it 6 days/week anymore so I started blogging. I’m kind of a person who needs a hobby in her life 😀
I’m sorry you have been forced to quit dancing. You’re doing a great job blogging. 🙂
I can understand why many quit and fail. I think most want to make money off of it. Some of the failure has to do with the lack of time to promote. Some has to do with the desire for instant success which doesn’t come. I think it’s something where you just need to take time and not have expectations to succeed right away. I do hope to make money eventually. But I am also enjoying the process, the learning, and I am doing it for my daughter and because I love to write.
I think it’s normal to want to make some money today, there are so many success stories of bloggers who could make a nice living out of blogging and that is inspirational. I do hope to make some pocket money (for some of my travels) too. It’s touching that you do blog for your daughter too.
